SWAN is helping people understand cognitive decline in women.  Recent findings suggest that memory loss and mental decline could begin as early as age 40.  Dr. Arun Karlamangla, PhD at the SWAN UCLA site, is the lead author of a paper that has recently received international media attention.  The paper titled, “Evidence for Cognitive Aging in Midlife Women: Study of Women’s Health Across the Nation ,” which appeared in PLOS, was featured in several U.S. online and print publications (The Huffington Post, Medical News Today, Medscape) and in the Sunday Express (UK national newspaper).
