SWAN Albert Einstein Teams Find 89% of Hispanic Women Use Herbal Remedies

Dr. Robin Green and colleagues recently published “Prevalence of Complementary and Alternative Medicine and Herbal Remedy Use in Hispanic and Non-Hispanic White Women: Results from the Study of Women’s Health Across the Nation.” in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine. Their results show the high prevalence of herbal remedy use in both Hispanic and non-Hispanic white women, with low reporting of use to healthcare providers. These findings identify the risk of potential interactions from Herbal Remedy use and traditional treatments. These findings have potential clinical implications for improved healthcare.
